Getting regular Pilates workouts gives muscular strength, flexibility and more control of your body. Pilates noticeably improves posture and increases lung capacity. The method demands concentration, time and effort, but you will be amply rewarded! Once you have mastered the basics of Pilates, you will not easily lose these. You will notice how its advantages make themselves felt in your daily life. After some 5 to 6 weeks you will notice improvements and after the first few months you will feel a real difference.
Strength: weak muscles lack strength, so they cannot support the joints. Overly loose joints will in turn get dislocated - with all its consequences (less strength in the joints, pain or susceptibility to injuries.)
Agility: heavy and stiff muscles are susceptible to injuries and limit mobility, which may cause immobility and stiffness. Joints especially need to move to stay flexible. Greater mobility improves the quality of life and helps you cope more easily with the grinds of daily life.
Control: lack of control and coordination over movements can lead to injuries or result in certain exercises not yielding the desired result. When you know how to best execute a certain movement, you will get more control over your own body.
