In every class I am challenged to perform better than during the previous session. When I leave the studio, I have the feeling that I did it again, that I got better and learned something new. I have been training here since 2006, but I don't think I'll ever get bored with pilates.
read more...More importantly, my chronic shoulder, elbow, and hip ailments, have all but disappeared. When I do get complaints, which nowadays is seldom, I recover much faster. I always go to my session, even when I have complaints, as pilates helps. I started out going to group classes, but I definitely prefer private sessions.
In the gym you always have the same routine, so I quickly switch to something else. But pilates is not a fad. You have to work at it constantly to master the method.
And ladies: pilates will make you drop a dress size!
I wouldn't want to do without pilates!

Because of Mirjam's dedicated and professional approach during our personal training sessions, I hardly suffer from knee complaints anymore and my shoulder injury is recovering well too, despite the diagnosis 'severe arthrosis'. The great thing about Pilates, I think, is that there is always an exercise that you can do despite your injury. What I like about Mirjam is that she looks for what is possible in each and every session and often it turns out that more is possible than I thought. The reward after all the exertion during the training is huge: Pilates gives my lots of energy and makes me feel better and happier.

I have been a client at Just Pilates for over four years now and I still find this form of exercise a revelation. I do Pilates next to my usual training laps on my racing bike. I feel fitter, lither and have better posture than in the past.
At the time, a sports physician advised me to do something with Pilates to help with the stability in my lower back. I found Mirjam and her studio through her website. She proved to have an endless repetoire of exercises at her disposal both with and without equipment which train seperate groups of muscles. She manages to reach those deeper-lying muscles that determine posture and stability of the back and pelvis. The effect of the exercises isn't reachted through speed, repetitions or attach weights to the equipment, but through concentration and controle: by using the right muscles for the right movement. And my body is the starting point. Whether I'm really fit or a bit under the weather, stiff in the joints, lithe or have an injury, Mirjam and her instructors always know how to pick and adapt their exercises to suit my needs at that particular moment.
